Everything you need to know to enter your wines in the Gilbert & Gaillard International Challenge.
The Gilbert & Gaillard International Challenge is an international evaluation system run worldwide by Wine Tasting and Trading Ltd. It recognises wines, spirits, other fermented beverages and olive oils, tasted blind by panels of professionals throughout the year.
Grower-producers, cooperative wineries and their unions, producer groups, négociants, manufacturers, importers and distributors.
Gilbert & Gaillard has been tasting and rating wines since 1989. The Gilbert & Gaillard International Challenge itself has existed since 2018.
Create your producer account in the winemakers' area, add a profile for each wine, then pay the entry fee online. You will then be told where to send your samples.
Entry fees are calculated per product and per number of languages chosen. They are deliberately kept very affordable so that producers, négociants and brand owners worldwide can have any type of product assessed.
The tasting note for your wine is translated and published in each language you choose, in the Gilbert & Gaillard online wine guide. Each language is one more page that search engines and AI assistants can find in that country: a buyer searching for your wine, your appellation or your estate in their own language lands on your listing and your medal. The 4-language package covers French, English, Chinese and Japanese; the 9-language package adds Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German and Russian. Your results are also shared with our contacts through our monthly newsletter.
Tastings take place all year round, from 1 January to 31 December: you can send your samples as soon as you have entered, with no deadline. Once they arrive, wines are tasted within one to two weeks, as soon as a large enough group of wines in the same category has been gathered. This unique approach lets us assess your wines when they are at their best.
To the address given in your entry file: it depends on your country (France, South Africa, Argentina or Australia). Use a reliable carrier and insure the shipment: a sample that arrives damaged or incomplete cannot be tasted.
For each wine: 2 bottles of 0.5 to 1 litre, or 2 bag-in-boxes of 3 to 5 litres, or 4 small bottles or cans.
Yes: include with each sample an analysis report less than one year old.
Samples are made anonymous and presented in identical packaging to a panel of professionals, in groups of wines of the same category.
After your first entry, our team links your account to your estate's record. If this has not been done yet, please contact us.
In “My photos and packshots”, upload photos of your bottles and your estate. They are published once our team has approved them.
